EnQuest gives social enterprise Solstice Nurseries a £5,000 boostIndependent oil and gas production company EnQuest is supporting Aberdeenshire horticultural social enterprise Solstice Nurseries with a £5,000 donation to buy a new delivery vehicle. Solstice provides work experience and training to around 20 people who have experienced mental health problems and specialises in growing more than 100 varieties of Scottish hardy heathers as well as offering a range of gardening services. EnQuest’s donation will allow the Solstice team to double the number of deliveries they can make and so significantly expand the service they offer from their base in Banchory Devenick. This is the second time EnQuest has supported Solstice — the first donation of £10,000, made at the end of 2009, helped fund the purchase of new irrigation system and a box trailer. Solstice general manager George Parkinson said: “We are so pleased to have the ongoing support of EnQuest. Their generosity has had a major impact on how far and how quickly we have been able to expand our services.” Paul Lindop, general manager of EnQuest in Aberdeen, said: “It gives us great satisfaction to continue supporting this important project and to see our contribution make a real difference to everyone involved in Solstice.”
