EPC Offshore helps to spread Christmas CheerEPC Offshore has joined forces with local charity, Instant Neighbour, to help drive its annual Giving Tree Appeal and ensure every child across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire has a gift to open on Christmas Day. Last year Instant Neighbour’s Giving Tree project helped spread the Christmas spirit to more than 6000 vulnerable families and children across the region. Now in its 21st year, the annual Giving Tree Appeal strives to help vulnerable, low income families amongst the community celebrate the festive holiday, encouraging people across the region to add just one more name to the Christmas list and help vulnerable, low income families amongst the community celebrate the festive holiday. Staff at EPC Offshore took on the role of Santa and hit the streets to purchase 50 gifts to be donated to the appeal and distributed to young people across the North-east who otherwise would not receive a gift at Christmas. Keith Wallace, CEO at EPC Offshore said, “With one in ten people in Aberdeen living in deprivation, we wanted to do our bit to help those living on low incomes and struggling to cope with the financial constrains of Christmas. “We all remember, as a child, the thrill of waking up on Christmas Day to a stack of presents under the tree and there are lots of children who won’t be experiencing that this year. “We hope we will make a difference to some of our very vulnerable and very disadvantaged young people.” Instant Neighbour provides practical support to people living on low incomes in Aberdeen City and Shire to ensure that vulnerable and underprivileged children have access to a wider range of services and response. With committed volunteers and supporters they work to meet the demands of ever increasing numbers of those in need. 146 views
