EPC Offshore Raises £11,000 for NSPCC

STAFF at EPC Offshore has raised over £11,000 in sponsorship, putting their team at the top of the list for fundraising efforts ahead of the Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge on 18th June.

The event will see five staff members span 55 miles of Scottish countryside by bike and on foot to raise money for the NSPCC.

Aberdeen Based EPC, who pledged to raise enough money to help train a full-time ChildLine councillor to help and support vulnerable children across the UK, have now raised enough money to provide the required training for three.

Company director, Keith Wallace has also grabbed the top spot for individual sponsorship out of 750 participants after drumming up over £2000 for their chosen cause.

He said: “We are really grateful to everyone who has shown their support and sponsored us, every penny counts. The NSPCC is an extremely worthwhile charity and they rely upon donations to continue their work protecting children and young people across the country. We never expected to have raised so much in such a short time, but we have far surpassed our initial target of £3000. It’s what’s really driving us to carry on and up our training regimes in the run up to the event.”

The five members of staff taking part in the challenge are Keith, Peter Kirkbride, Mike Jeffries, Jim Strachan and Ryan Robbins.

Starting out at Drymen, near Loch Lomond, they will walk through the Trossachs to Callander before switching to bikes for a gruelling 39 mile cycle to the banks of Loch Tay.

Director of wild fox events and Rob Roy Challenge organiser, David Fox-Pitt said “EPC have done fantastically well to have raised over £11,000, it’s a real testament to their dedication and the impact of what the money raised for the charity can do reminds us why it’s all worthwhile. It’s always great to see a team take the event so seriously - taking on a huge physical challenge and getting so much out of it.”

NSPCC is the UK’s leading children charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children.

The Rob Roy Challenge takes place on June 18. If you wish to sponsor the team, please visit www.epcoffshore.co.uk to make a donation.
