Ernst & Young Aberdeen to launch networking group for emerging leadersErnst & Young Aberdeen launches its Connecting Emerging Leaders (CEL) programme at the Carmelite Hotel on Tuesday 6 September from 18:30 to 21:30. The new networking group, which aims to bring together future leaders from industry, professional services, banking and private equity, is the brainchild of Gemma Main, an audit manager with the firm, and Sarah Devenish, a senior executive in the office’s Transaction Advisory Services team.
They have set up CEL as a response to what they see as a gap in the market; they believe that existing groups are targeted at either company directors or those at the outset of their careers.
CEL aims to develop a forum for those who have been identified by their employers as having the potential to assume positions of influence within their respective sectors and provide them with a platform from which to hone their leadership skills and build long-term relationships with like-minded individuals.
The launch coincides with Offshore Europe, the biennial conference and exhibition taking place at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre. The theme of this year’s conference is “securing safe, smart, sustainable supply” which Gemma and Sarah believe they are contributing to talent-wise via the creation of CEL.
Speakers at the inaugural event include Mike Tholen, economics and commercial director at Oil & Gas UK, and Dale Nijoka, global oil and gas leader at Ernst & Young.
