Escape into a Fashion Wonderland for ARCHIEFashion Management students from Robert Gordon University have embarked on a fashion adventure all in the name of local children's charity The ARCHIE Foundation. The "Wonderland" fashion show will take place at the Aberdeen Business School, Garthdee, on Friday 27 May with doors opening at 7pm.
Wonderland will take audiences through an adventure featuring six magical fashion affairs including Tea Party, Circus and Queen of Hearts. Attendees will be asked to take a walk in the shoes of Alice and experience Wonderland with supporting acts including a live performance from Scottish band Kate and the Redundants.
All of this will be enjoyed whilst sipping on bubbly with nibbles galore. A wide range of stalls will also be available on the night offering everything from beautifully crafted jewellery to a raffle offering guests the chance to win amazing prizes including a SK:N hamper and a luxury coffee machine.
The ARCHIE Foundation is the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital, the Children's Wards in Inverness and Elgin and Community based Child Health throughout Grampian, Highland, Orkney and Shetland. Donations given to the charity go directly towards 'Making the difference' for the children - the mission statement and main objective for the charity.
Natasha Pelling, Event Manager said: "The charity's work has captured the hearts of all us fashion students and inspired the "Wonderland" theme. We're looking for the people of the North-east to release their inner children and join Robert Gordon University in what will be a magical evening in aid of a truly wonderful cause."
Peter Mellon, hairdresser from Toni&Guy has kindly offered his exclusive services for the event and will be creating a unique look for each model's hair on the runway. A promotional photo shoot took place to launch the show in a secret garden, featuring model Katie Isaac with photographer Callum Chapman giving a taste of Wonderland. During the shoot Peter stated:
"Hairdressing is so much more than doing a cut and blow dry. Doing this fashion show for the University means I can show my talent and help others, it's fantastic."
