Essential Supervisory Skills
Price Code: C
Bridge the gap between doing and supervising
The role of a team leader is ‘hands-on’ management in the truest sense. Very often the supervisor has been one of the team and is now responsible for colleagues and friends.
New supervisors face a very big adjustment – from doing tasks themselves they must now make things happen through other people. Relationships in the workplace have to change and develop as transition into this key role takes place. Basic skills in delegation, motivation and team building are essential to supervise a really happy and successful team. The course content stimulates and informs and experiences are shared. As knowledge and skills grow, so too does confidence.
Participants will learn how to:
- Motivate their staff
- Adapt their leadership style to suit the situation
- Gain respect as a leader
- Communicate so as to build the team
- Tackle disciplinary issues properly
- Delegate effectively
This programme is aimed:
To meet the needs of new or partly-experienced supervisors and team leaders, this is an intensive one-day programme. It provides an ideal foundation for the range of management development training.
