Export Documents

Export documents

Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce is ready to make the whole documentation process as straightforward as possible, and can ensure that your goods travel with ease, providing you with peace of mind.

As an exporter you have already developed a successful product and now all you have to do is deliver your goods on time and ensure that you receive your payment quickly. This can be a simple process when you know how but understanding which document is required for each shipment to each destination can be difficult. Our Chamber Documentation Team can give support and guidance.  We provide a document processing service for:

European Community Certificate of Origin

A Chamber of Commerce certified document confirming the country of origin (manufacture) of the goods being exported.

Arab-British Certificate of Origin

An Arab-British Certificate of Origin is a Customs clearance requirement in some countries to evidence the origin of the goods. It may also be requested by the importing company.

An EUR1 Movement Certificate is used to support claims for preferential (usually zero) rates of duty in the country of importation. To qualify the goods must 'originate' in the UK or EU and be supported by a correctly completed and endorsed EUR1. The preference system only applies to countries where certain trade agreements exist with the EU. When completing an EUR1 form it is advisable, the exporter or authorised agent consults HM Revenue and Customs Notices 827, 828, 832 to ensure that the goods 'originate' in accordance with origin rules.

The ATR Certificate entitles goods, which are in 'free circulation' in the EU (i.e. the goods are EU-originating, or on importation into the EU all the relevant duties and taxes have been paid) to receive preferential import duty treatment when shipped to Turkey. This applies to all eligible goods except agricultural goods, minerals and steel which require an EUR1 Movement Certificate. When completing an ATR form it is advisable that the exporter or authorised agent consults HM Revenue & Customs Notice 812.

Letter of Credit

A letter of credit is a document from a bank guaranteeing that a seller will receive payment in full as long as certain delivery conditions have been met. In the event that the buyer is unable to make payment on the purchase, the bank will cover the outstanding amount.

Letters of Credit

Letter of Credit Service

Save money, get it right the first time.

Exporting your products and services to new and existing foreign markets is a great way to generate new income streams but can bring its own set of potential problems. Being fully paid and on time is central to protecting the cash flow position of your company.

Unfortunately over 80% of documents independently submitted to banks fail through non-compliant paperwork, resulting in frustrating and expensive reviews and re-submissions attracting delays and additional fees.

Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce offers a comprehensive “Letter of Credit” service. We offer two levels of service:

* full preparation of all documents and presentation to the Bank

* an examination of your documents prior to presentation to the Bank

Don’t take the chance of your documents being rejected!

AGCC’s experienced export documentation team can remove this worry and ensure a first time acceptance by the bank by examining and preparing the supporting documents required for a letter of credit. This protects both the position of the buyer and the seller and ensures that the needs and expectations of both parties are met.
