Final Chance to Celebrate Your Talented Employees in the 2011 Oil & Gas UK Awards

The deadline for the 2011 Oil & Gas UK Awards has been extended to Friday August 12 to enable more operators, contractors and supply chain businesses from across Britain to enter nominations for the prestigious industry event sponsored by Shell U.K. Limited.

With interest building in the popular award ceremony held at Aberdeen’s Exhibition and Conference Centre on November 3, Oil & Gas UK is encouraging businesses, large and small, to make their submission before time runs out and judging begins.

Last year’s outstanding individual performers, whose achievements were recognised at the 2010 Oil & Gas UK Awards, have found the experience rewarding in terms of their own professional development and because of the encouragement, inspiration and confidence boost the award generated across their companies. For the enterprising companies who won awards in the corporate category, the opportunity to showcase their entrepreneurial flair in front of an audience of hundreds, including leading industry figures in the upstream sector, has enhanced their credibility among existing and potential clients.

There is one week left to submit nominations online for the following categories:

Individual Awards

• The Oil & Gas UK Award for Overall Excellence, sponsored by Marathon Oil U.K. Ltd, for outstanding achievement by young people working in the UK offshore oil and gas industry today;

• The Oil & Gas UK Award for Young Technician of the Year, sponsored by OPITO, which recognises the vital contribution of our industry’s technicians;

• The Oil & Gas UK Award for Mentoring, sponsored by Chevron Upstream Europe, to highlight the important role mentors play in sharing their knowledge and expertise with the next generation of oil and gas workers.

Corporate Awards

• The Oil & Gas UK Award for People Development, sponsored by the University of Aberdeen, for organisations demonstrating an outstanding commitment to developing every company’s most important asset – its people;

• The Oil & Gas UK Award for Business Efficiency, sponsored by Apache North Sea Limited, for companies using innovative ways to deliver improved operational performance.

Applicants are invited to submit their nominations online at www.oilandgasuk.co.uk/2011awards. The closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday 12 August.

The winners will be announced at the Oil & Gas UK Awards dinner on 3 November 2011 and will receive a specially commissioned glass trophy. In addition, winners in the individual categories will each be presented with a cheque for £500.
