Four Peaks Success for AtkinsEmployees from Atkins in Aberdeen have raised nearly £8,000 for Cancer Research UK after completing an impressive Four Peaks Challenge. An extension to the popular Three Peaks Challenge, it saw the team of nine successfully climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England, Southern Ireland and Wales – all in just 48 hours.
Steve Fogg, Managing Director at Atkins, based in Aberdeen, said: “We are all delighted to have raised so much money for such a worthwhile charity who solely rely on public funding to research and raise awareness.
“Reaching the fourth mountain was a fantastic achievement and the wet weather certainly made it a challenge.
“I would like to thank all those who donated, providing us with a great deal of motivation during an incredibly tiring 48 hours.”
The climbers, a mix of engineering and business support staff, raised the funds through support from friends, family, colleagues and clients and also by organising fundraising events including a ceilidh and pub quiz.
