Colin Parker, Aberdeen Harbour Chief Executive said: “As a long standing supporter of the Northern Star Business Awards we are delighted to become the event’s principal sponsor. “Thanks to Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, the ceremony is now a firm fixture on the calendar here in the North-east. Not only does it bring the business community together, it also allows us all to recognise and celebrate the success stories from across the region.”
Gaby is one of TV’s most popular presenters whose credits include The Big Breakfast, Whatever You Want and BBC Holiday. She also fronted 28 hours of live non-stop television for BBC1's Millennium celebration 2000 TODAY. She then co-presented The Terry and Gaby Show, has recently finished the 2nd series of Celebrity Fantasy Homes and currently hosts the BBC London Breakfast Show. “The Northern Star Awards will undoubtedly be the highlight of Scotland’s business events calendar and I am delighted to be hosting them this year,” she said. “The opportunity to acknowledge the companies and individuals who have been nominated and shortlisted for their commitment to excellence in business is an honour. It is wonderful to be a part of an event which recognises those who have contributed so much to the success of the North-east economy and I’m sure it will be a fantastic night.” This year’s Awards sees the introduction of several new categories including The Energy Award, The Green Award, Outstanding Contribution to Society Award and Best Marketing Campaign Award which reflect the work taking place with the Chamber’s newly established Chamber Networks which have been set up to provide a more sector specific tailored service for members. Category sponsors who have already confirmed their support are Aberdeenshire Council (People Development); Aberdeen Harbour Board (Internationalisation); Bon Accord Payroll Services (Customer Service) and The Robert Gordon University (Student Placement). Associated sponsors include AECC, Double Tree by Hilton and XIC. Chamber Chief Executive Bob Collier said that the stature and prestige of the Awards, which are now in their 8th year, grows from year to year. “Aberdeen was recently tipped as a key city to power the UK recovery and these awards showcase the achievements of businesses here in the North-east who have helped put us in that position. Throughout the recession when unemployment levels were rising in many cities, Aberdeen remained steadfast, keeping jobs and maintainging investment and many businesses grew and expanded by moving into new international markets.” Full details of the NSBA 2011 categories as well as information on sponsorship opportunities and details on how to book at table are available at www.northernstarawards.co.uk or by calling a member of the events team on 01224 343901. |
