Grow your workforce

Aberdeenshire businesses will get the chance to find out about some of the assistance, including financial support, available from public sector bodies to help them create and develop their workforce.

The Support in Creating a Workforce event, at the Holiday Inn, Westhill on Friday, May 13, is part of Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce’s Shire Connections Networking Lunches. It will be chaired by Provost Bill Howatson of Aberdeenshire Council.

The Council is the main sponsor of the event which will feature a panel of speakers who will provide an informative overview of schemes that can benefit businesses across the region.

Morna Harper from Aberdeenshire Council will talk about the Business Gateway First Employee Grant Scheme which assists businesses in Aberdeen City and Shire to take on their first employee.

John Harrison, Skills Development Scotland will cover a variety of topics including flexible training opportunities, Modern Apprenticeships, Adopt an Apprentice and Individual Learning Accounts and a representative of Job Centre Plus will provide an overview of the support available for businesses taking on employees who have been unemployed.
