Healthy walking in Woodside woodland

A special ‘Health Walk’ will take ramblers on a stroll through Woodside tomorrow [Thurs 21 April].

The easy-paced two-mile circular walk, starting at 2pm, is the first in a series of new health walks developed by Aberdeen City Council’s Countryside Ranger Service in partnership with the National Health Service, the Forestry Commission and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Countryside ranger Ruth Bone, who will lead the walk, said: ”Come along and stretch your legs, get some fresh air and vitamin D, and meet some new folk. You are also welcome to stay on for a Tai Chi demonstration class and a cup of tea or coffee.

“The paths are a little rough in places and may be muddy so please wear suitable footwear and clothing appropriate for the weather. You may also wish to bring a bottle of water and any medication like inhalers that you require. If you have any health issues, please speak to your GP before signing up for the walk.”

Walkers should meet in the car park beside Persley Walled Gardens off Mugiemoss Road.

The walk is free but booking is required. For more information and/or to sign up for the walk, please call the Ranger Service on (01224) 897400 or email lochinch@aberdeencity.gov.uk
