Ice warning in freezing temperatures

The Met Office has predicted another night of freezing temperatures in Aberdeen, , which means roads and pavements are likely to be icy.

The air temperature is predicted to be around -2C tonight and the roads temperature even lower. Motorists are warned not to be fooled by the temperature sensors in their vehicles, which give the air temperature, not the road surface temperature.

Motorists and pedestrians should take extra care when out and about tonight and tomorrow morning.

Aberdeen City Council's roads teams will continue carrying out winter maintenance operations. The council has plenty salt in stock.
