Insight Aberdeen: Third Sector and Volunteering Fayre – Saturday 2nd July 2011 at the Music Hall, 10am – 3pmACVO’s annual Third Sector and Volunteering Fayre took place on Saturday. 46 third sector organisations showcased their work and offered their volunteering opportunities to the citizens of Aberdeen. ACVO would like to give a big thank you to all of the stallholders as well as Aberdeen Youth Choir, Music in Motion, Singing Hands Youth (by Music 4 U), Millennium Child (organised by Multi ethnic Aberdeen Limited) for their performances on the stage at the Music Hall. Also, a big thank you to Kevin Stewart MSP (Aberdeen Central) for his motion (see below) to Parliament yesterday. S4M-00471 Kevin Stewart (Aberdeen Central) (Scottish National Party): That the Parliament congratulates the Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations (ACVO) and the participants for holding Aberdeen’s Third Sector and Volunteering Fayre, which it considers was an immense success in helping connect voluntary and community organisations with the citizens of Aberdeen. One of the stallholders, Alex Grant from North-East Scotland Disabled Veterans (NESDVA) said “What a great time I had on Saturday at the Music Hall. Through this event we managed to obtain two new members and also surprise surprise a donation of £100”.
