INTEREST-FREE LOW CARBON TRANSPORT LOANS TO SCOTTISH BUSINESSES

--- Transport loans of between £500 and £50,000 offered with up to 6 years repayment period---

In a bid to encourage Scottish businesses to reduce their carbon impact and travel costs, the Energy Saving Trust Scotland is offering organisations in Scotland interest free loans of between £500 and £50,000 for the installation of measures that make their transport and travel arrangements more sustainable.

The Energy Saving Trust Scotland is keen to encourage applications from every size and type of organisation, including private sector businesses, the government and the public sector.

Funded by Transport Scotland the loans can be used to meet installation costs of measures that would help businesses in Scotland reduce their environmental impact. This could include installing video and teleconference facilities, bikes and bike storage units, fleet management software, vehicle efficiency devices or low carbon cars and vans.

Ian Murdoch, Energy Saving Trust Scotland Transport Manager, said:

“Taking out a loan to help your organisation become more sustainable is a great way of boosting corporate and social responsibility. As the loan is interest free, with repayments spread over six years, it’s an attractive proposition for any company.”

Funds are limited, so the Energy Saving Trust Scotland is urging that organisations get in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Specialist advisors in your local Energy Saving Trust Scotland advice centre can arrange a free sustainable transport review of your organisation to assess your transport needs. They will produce an independent report of recommendations, identifying what you could do to help your organisation save money and reduce carbon emissions.

To find out more, or to arrange a free sustainable transport review for your organisation, call Abigail Betney, your local Sustainable Transport Advisor at the Energy Saving Scotland advice centre on 01224 253916 and ask about a low carbon transport loan.
