Interwell doubles UK facilities, doubles headcount and aims to double revenues in 2012

Leading well intervention and integrity specialist Interwell has invested more than £2million to expand its UK operations and doubled its Aberdeen workforce to meet industry demand.

Having enjoyed significant growth since opening its UK facility in February, the company has expanded its site at Links Place in Aberdeen with the construction of a new qualification test facility to accommodate a growing team of design engineers and better serve its local clients

During the last year, it has also embarked on a heavy recruitment drive, employing 13 highly experienced engineers in less than ten months, creating a total of 22 jobs in Aberdeen.

Interwell offers the slimmest and most advanced well barrier solutions in the upstream oil and gas sector and has attracted more than 20 clients, performing in excess of 50 jobs since opening its Aberdeen base at the beginning of the year.

Interwell UK managing director Andrew Louden says: “We have witnessed rapid growth since establishing the Aberdeen base and have now doubled the size of our premises and created a dedicated test facility to provide a quicker turnaround time for local clients.

“We have recruited a first class operations team and highly experienced downhole product designers who enable us to better serve our UK clients with bespoke solutions, tailoring our core products to address individual challenges.

“We will launch a number of new products into the marketplace in the coming year to help our clients to improve wellsite safety, reduce operational time and make significant cost savings. At the moment we are on course to meet our turnover target of £5million for this financial year and aim to double that in 2012.”
