It is that time of year again ..... British Chamber Awards 2011!

Last year we received 24 entries for the eight categories, from all the accredited Chambers in Scotland. We want to ensure that this year we surpass this level of entries for Scotland.

Thus showing off the excellence and expertise currently evident in Scottish businesses today. This year there are nine categories, with the introduction of the Finding New International Markets Award. The Green Award has had a change of name and is now called The Sustainable Award. The full list of business categories for this years awards, are as follows:

Most Promising New Business - Recognising the growth of new business

Entrepreneur of the Year - Recognising the success of British Entrepreneurs

Business of the Year - Recognising the strength of UK business

Innovation Through Technology - Recognising companies putting technology to effective use

Achievement in International Business - Recognising the strength of British business overseas

Excellence in People Development - Recognising businesses with an employee development focus

The Sustainability Award - Recognising businesses with an environment agenda

Excellence in Customer Service - Recognising companies with a focus on customer service and care

Finding New International Markets - Recognising companies committed to expanding internationally into new markets

Please ensure all of your members are aware of the awards and encourage as many as possible, to take part and submit applications. The closing date for all entries is Friday 24th June 2011. Your chamber by now, should have received the full information and marketing packs from the Chamber Awards Team at BCC. The Regional Judging Panel for the Scottish business entries will take place on Tuesday 2nd August 2011, 10.00am at the SCC offices, 30 George Square, Glasgow. There is one place on the panel available to each accredited chamber. Therefore, please can you confirm who will be your chamber representative on this years panel by close of play on Friday 6th May 2011.

The Chamber Awards 2011 will be taking place at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on Thursday 24th November 2011.
