JAB gets a shot for the future

North East global Oil and Gas recruitment specialists JAB Recruitment have a unique story to tell.

Founded from a university incubator in 2002 and now a leading global player in executive search and selection the entrepreneurial organisation is now building for the future in more ways than one.

Andrew Ramsay, Managing Director of JAB says ‘Due to increasing global energy demand the requirement for experienced personnel in international locations will be higher and more competitive than ever before. Clients are frequently asking us to establish new international operations to service their ongoing needs’.

“We have come a long way in the last 8 years and we are now at a stage we want to build on success and are expanding our business to meet these needs” The Dundee based firm have recently invested over £350,000 on new headquarters in the city which will allow the firm to create around 10 jobs in the next 12 – 18 months. They are also opening a new international office in Calgary, Western Canada at the end of Q1 this year as an exciting first phase in international expansion.

JAB boosts an impressive client list of international oil companies from independents to super majors and also operates a not for profit organisation, Industry Spotlight’ which encourages young people to consider careers in key industries whilst still at high school both in the UK and Canada. “We totally see the value in engaging with young people and getting them thinking about careers from an early age, at some point they could be our clients” said Ramsay.

JAB recruitment has not gone unnoticed in the business community. The entrepreneurial organisation sparked interest from a leading Scottish entrepreneur Andrew Pert. Mr Pert was the founder of one of Scotland’s most successful recruitment businesses, Search Consultancy. Since the sale of his business in the late nineties Mr Pert has been an investor in high growth organisations in various sectors. His desire to get involved in JAB was based on various factors “when I invest in young entrepreneurial companies I am looking for more than a strong balance sheet, I am looking for drive and enthusiasm plus raw talent, JAB ticked all the boxes” said Pert “I saw a lot of me in the JAB Directors and I know that my investment will more than give me a return”

JAB is expecting to continue to grow its business internationally and plans to open its Middle East Office by Q1 2011 in Abu Dhabi and Perth Australia by Q3 2011.
