JOHNSTON CARMICHAEL’S ABERDEEN STAFF RAISE CHARITY CASH FOR LOCAL CAUSE

Staff members from the Aberdeen office of Scotland’s largest independent firm of chartered accountants, Johnston Carmichael, have raised more than £650 for a local charity after a year-long fundraising drive.

The team raised the cash for CLAN Cancer Support, which supports anyone affected by cancer in the North East of Scotland, Orkney and Shetland.

The firm’s Granite City employees raised the funds through a number of activities held throughout the year, including a dress down day with bacon rolls, a wii competition, a quiz and a Christmas raffle.

The donation was presented to CLAN at the charity’s Aberdeen base, on Caroline Place, on Tuesday, August 23.

The local office carries out fundraising activities every year as part of a firm-wide CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policy to support a wide variety of charitable causes.

Andrew Walker, Managing Partner of the Aberdeen office, commented: “We’re delighted to be doing our bit for the local community with this donation. CLAN offers an extremely valuable service to people in the region.”

Susan Crighton, fundraising manager at CLAN Cancer Support, said: “To raise over £670 is a fantastic achievement and everyone at CLAN would like to thank the company for putting so much effort into fundraising for CLAN.

“Every penny that is raised for CLAN goes towards ensuring we can keep offering our clients the services and support they require and so we are extremely grateful to the team from Johnston Carmichael for all their hard work.”
