June

hot-topic-juneWhy do you think it is important to exhibit at Offshore Europe?

STEVE-GIBBThis particular exhibition has always been important to us - especially during the eighties and nineties when our business was more North Sea focused.
Because the vast majority of our business comes from overseas nowadays, Reed Exhibitions, the show organiser, needs to work very hard to ensure that international delegates are attracted to the show. As far as exhibitors are concerned it is vital that influential delegations from Australia, Brazil, France, Holland, Norway and the USA attend. Without these international visitors the event could quickly diminish in value.
I'm glad to see that Aberdeen City Council is once again trying to engage the good citizens of Aberdeen through the Energy Festival. It is in everyone's interest to welcome Offshore Europe to the city. For the absolute minimal disruption the event causes the benefit is enormous and the region cannot afford to lose such a prestigious gathering.

Offshore Europe has always been a worthwhile event for LA Recruitment. This will be the second time we have exhibited at the show and it provides us with an excellent opportunity to network with the right people.
The level of interest in the services we provide has strengthened our belief that the oil and gas jobs market is still buoyant with plenty of opportunities available, particularly overseas as well as in the UK.
We specialise in placing prospective employees in engineering, marine and technical posts and the current economic climate has created a pool of experienced jobseekers with a wide range of valuable skills.
Offshore Europe is a valuable opportunity for us to match up those highly experienced professionals with companies looking to fill vacant positions and we are looking forward to another productive week.

We are the UK subsidiary of a Norwegian company and started trading from the Aberdeen base in June last year. This is the biggest oil and gas exhibition in Europe and we will be there to raise potential customers’ awareness of our company and its products.

"We recently held a successful open day with the same objective at which we encouraged people to come to see us on the Innovation Norway stand at Offshore Europe.

"Our product is unique and we obviously want to ensure that our message gets across. There is nowhere better to achieve that than Offshore Europe where you are exposed to a huge range of UK and overseas companies and those who attend are focussed and there to do business.

Domonic HoulihanWe have been doing it for years and years and have tried every format known to mankind. On one occasion we had our Principal Clarissa Dickson Smith walking round looking at various stands knowledgeably, followed by the media. We have had gizmos on stands with scientists standing waiting to be accosted by passers-by, we have had goody bags but we have honed down our message now and it is unimaginable that the University of Aberdeen would not be there.
Our message for the last few years has been about training opportunities and we concentrate on Continuing Professional Development, short courses and the specialist Masters courses.
We like our staff contributing to the conference which is one of the most important things and we normally have a couple of big events focussing on what is hot and it might be the National Subsea Research Institute this year. We find it a very useful event.
