Knight Frank completes new Aberdeen depot for Scottish WaterAberdeen, UK – Knight Frank’s building consultancy team has completed the design and project management of a new purpose built depot for Scottish Water at Westhill, Aberdeen. The new depot extends to 10,500 sq ft and incorporates storage for Scottish Water's plant and materials. It also provides workshop space, washbay and reinforced concrete bunkers for the storage of bulk materials. In addition to the new depot, Knight Frank also designed and project managed the fit-out of existing office accommodation at Westhill to form mess facilities for operational staff in the area. This includes a canteen, showers, locker rooms, toilets and washing/drying facilities.
Doug Garden, partner Knight Frank said: “This project was the result of Scottish Water’s decision to rationalise their depot locations and consolidate operations onto one site at their HQ facility in Westhill. “As the new building occupies a prominent position within the site, the design of the façade was enhanced in order to meet planning requirements. This has ultimately helped the building to sit comfortably within its surroundings.” Morrison Construction was appointed on the construction of all works at a cost of circa £950,000.
