KNIGHT FRANK REFLECTS ON SUCCESSFUL SIX MONTHSThe Aberdeen office of property consultancy, Knight Frank, has secured a series of significant design and project management contracts during the last six months, totalling more than £5 million. Among these is a new purpose-built headquarters at Minto Drive in Altens, which will house offshore clothing suppliers K&L Ross upon completion. In addition, Knight Frank has been appointed to design and build a new office, workshop and yard facilities in Inverurie and Dyce for private developers Rennie Enterprise and West Coast Estates.
Knight Frank will manage all of these projects from inception to completion, assuming responsibility for the design and planning application stages as well as project managing the construction work and marketing the properties for lease. The firm’s agency and building consultancy departments will work together throughout the development.
Doug Garden, partner at Knight Frank, believes this collaborative approach delivers a seamless and efficient service that benefits both the developer and prospective tenants or purchasers.
He said: “Our team approach to development ensures that our designs are 'fit for the market' in terms of aesthetics, function and cost. The market knowledge that we have in our agency team is able to influence the design process in a positive way that works extremely well for the developer and tenant, thus increasing our reputation for overall management of developments and ensuring that companies come to us because they can be confident we will deliver.”
Knight Frank has also secured a two year extension to its existing long-term contract with Royal Mail. Over the past 20 years the company has provided project management, design and cost control services for Royal Mail’s North of Scotland portfolio, whilst also taking care of 189 of its properties spanning Scotland.
Mr Garden added: “The total value of the contracts is a real indicator of the success of our integrated approach to developments. We work across a wide variety of sectors and deal with a spectrum of clients, from individual owners to corporate tenants.
“Meeting the needs of our clients is a priority and we are delighted to be involved in these exciting projects. We believe in achieving and maintaining the highest standards across our business and this is reflected in the level of work which we are seeing in our Aberdeen office.”
