Knight Frank secures sale of Clan HouseThe Aberdeen office of global property consultancy Knight Frank has announced the sale of the former Aberdeen headquarters of North east charity CLAN Cancer Support. CLAN House and its adjoining accommodation unit, CLAN Haven, at Caroline Place have been sold for an undisclosed sum to The Father’s House, which intends to convert the building back to its former use as a church, with a bed and breakfast in the attached building.
The building, which covers an area of more than 13,500sq ft, has been the headquarters of CLAN since 1996. CLAN moved into its new premises at Westburn Road at the beginning of November.
Katherine Monro, partner at Knight Frank, said: “We are delighted to have secured the sale of CLAN House. Due to the variety of possibilities for use, the site attracted a significant number of enquiries. It is a striking building which has retained many of its original religious and historic features and its association with CLAN for many years has made it somewhat of a landmark in Aberdeen.”
Debbie Thomson, chief executive of CLAN, added: “CLAN House has been our home for the past 15 years and we hope that the building provides as much happiness for its new owners as it has for CLAN staff and all who have used our services over the years. Whilst we are obviously sad to leave this beautiful building behind, we have outgrown it and require larger premises to continue to provide the level of support that is needed by those who use our services.” Knight Frank has also completed the sale of Hebron Evangelical Church in the city’s west end. The building, located on Thistle Street, has been bought by a private purchaser at a figure in excess of £420,000. The current occupiers will be moving to the former Denburn Parish Church on Summer Street.
