Krayon Kids make their Scottish debut

AMERICAN musical theatre group the Krayon Kids will make their Scottish debut at Maersk Oil UK’s headquarters in Aberdeen bringing a taste of the hit show Glee to north-east audiences.

Maersk Oil hosted the first performance of the Krayon Kids Elite Travel Group at their headquarters in Altens where staff were treated to a lively hour long trunk-show, a style popularized in the days of Vaudeville.

While its young stars have performed across the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, Japan and Germany, the performance marked their first visit to the UK and Aberdeen International Youth Festival.

Maersk Oil UK managing director Martin Rune Pedersen said: “The Aberdeen International Youth Festival provides an excellent platform not just to entertain but to share cultures from around the world. As an international oil and gas operator with a diverse mix of nationalities and cultures working in our Aberdeen team, we were pleased to host the debut performance of these vibrant and talented young performers.”

Krayon Kids Musical Theatre Company was created in 1993 to provide an affordable option for children to learn and participate in live theatre. Over the years, it has developed into an internationally acclaimed performing arts organization that showcases the various talents of local children in an annual original production.

The Elite Travel Troupe, which has been touring since 1996, is primarily made up of older members of the cast.
