Lawyers gear up for charity trekA DEDICATED group of Aberdeen-based lawyers are preparing to take on a 24-hour trek through the Highland wilderness this Saturday (6 August) to raise cash to support entrepreneurs in the third world. The team of 11 from regional law firm Ledingham Chalmers LLP hope to pull in £4,000 on the annual WildHearts “Wolftrek” fundraising walk, a 45-mile overnight hike from the Moray coast to Cairngorm mountain.
The funds raised will go towards generating funding for micro-finance initiatives in Africa and beyond, helping people in the developing world work their own way out of poverty sustainably by providing them with small loans and business training.
David Scott, partner at the firm and team leader for the group, said: “We have taken part in each of the three challenges since the trek was founded in 2008 and we are really excited to take it on again.”
“WildHearts encourages people to adopt a healthy lifestyle while helping to launch companies around the world, with the aim of eradicating global poverty, and we’re all pleased to continue supporting such a worthwhile cause."
