LEADING CANCER CHARITY CLAN SEEKS RUNNERS

People from throughout the North-east are being urged to dust off their running shoes to help a local cancer charity.

Cancer Link Aberdeen and North (CLAN) is recruiting members of the public to tackle this year’s Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10K, which takes place on Sunday, May 23.

CLAN fundraising co-ordinator, Duncan Charles, is looking forward to what continues to be a popular fundraising opportunity for the charity.

He said: “Taking part in a 10km is a big commitment for anyone. Many of the participants will be taking part in their first run and we find that the added incentive of helping a local charity at the same time often gives people that extra motivation.

“Last years participants raised a fantastic amount of money and we are looking forward to seeing our supporters achieve even more this year.”

The 10k route is always an exciting run with over 3000 runners and walkers participating. The route takes in some of Aberdeen’s best views along the coast line as the crowds cheer you on.

CLAN is an independent charity which offers support to anyone affected by cancer. Based in Aberdeen, the charity covers the whole of Grampian, Orkney and Shetland.
