Leading Oilfield Professionals to Attend Devex 2011 in Aberdeen Next Month

Over 300 oilfield professionals from across the disciplines will meet at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) in Aberdeen on 11 and 12 May 2011 to attend the 8th annual DEVEX conference and exhibition.

The theme for the two day conference and exhibition, ‘Sharing Solutions for Mature Basin Development’, has drawn a large number of high quality presentations addressing the range of challenges facing the development of mature basins. Organised under the joint auspices of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB) and the Aberdeen Formation Evaluation Society (AFES), the event aims to showcase multi-disciplinary solutions.

Paul Adair, DEVEX 2011 Conference Chair, says, “We encourage attendance from operators and suppliers globally who wish to learn more about solutions leading to successful field development. Our belief is that, with its reasonable delegate and exhibition cost, attendance and participation at DEVEX will provide a first rate technical experience and provide value to both operators and suppliers through the sharing of knowledge and new contacts made.”

Each day of the conference will open with Keynote Presentations; the first day will be opened with a talk by Rob Kuyper, Development Manager, TAQA Bratani while Martin Rune Pederson, Managing Director, Maersk Oil UK will open the second day. The conference will include 44 oral presentations delivered over the two days, as well as a dedicated attended poster session covering a range of technical issues and solutions. In addition oilfield related companies from Aberdeen, the UK and the rest of the world will be showcasing their products, services and innovations to delegates during the multiple breaks and the dedicated exhibition session.

Prior to the conference a Core Workshop has been arranged where professionals will have the chance to review core from a number of North Sea fields with their colleagues. A Young Professionals Workshop will also take place in conjunction with DEVEX 2011 on Thursday 12 May focussing on the theme ‘Drilling through the Divide: How does leadership apply to Technical Disciplines?’

Places are still available to attend DEVEX 2011 and details of the fees and how to book can found on the conference website www.devex-conference.org
