Micro Tyco

Micro-Tyco is a fun, fast and furious new enterprise challenge running in November for companies, colleges, universities and schools designed to reignite the spirit of enterprise across our whole country. Created by WildHearts, Micro-Tyco has already been adopted by RGU as a compulsory part of their business degrees and is being championed by Annette Bruton, Aberdeen City Council's Director of Education, Culture and Sport as a wonderful way for Aberdeen companies to support local schools.

Micro-Tyco also has support from prominent business leaders such as Sir Tom Hunter and Bob Keiller (both of whom will be video mentors for participants during the challenge) and organisations such as the SCDI, Entrepreneurial Exchange and SIE. Entries to date include teams from global brands such as Deloitte and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, companies from New York to Brisbane and schools across Aberdeenshire and beyond. You can watch Annette Bruton's personal video invite to businesses to take part here http://www.wildheartsinaction.org/microtyco/microtycovideos/annettebruton.html and hear Dr John Park, Charles P Skene Entrepreneurship Programme Leader at RGU explain why they are partnering with Micro-Tyco here http://www.wildheartsinaction.org/microtyco/microtycovideos/johnpark.html

Very simply, Micro-Tyco challenges participating teams to turn £1 into as much money as possible in just one month, using team-work, creativity, business skills and imagination. Schools will compete against schools, businesses against businesses but both will be encouraged to partner with each other to share learning and ideas. Business people will inspire children and be inspired in return.  During the competition teams will receive video mentoring from business leaders and multiple networking opportunities.  All monies created during Micro-Tyco will be used by the WildHearts charity to provide micro-loans in the developing world, transforming Micro-Tyco participants from dynamic wealth creators to global ethical investors.

As well as being a fun challenge for a great cause, Micro-Tyco will be a great team building and educational tool for your staff and the perfect way to help stimulate enterprise education in your local area. We hope you can get involved.  Entry to the challenge, which is completely free, is open now and interested teams to should email info@wildheartsinaction.org to request an entry form. Applications must be completed by the 31st of October with the challenge beginning on November 1st. To find out much more about Micro-Tyco please visit http://www.wildheartsinaction.org/microtyco/
