MINI RAFFLE SET TO BE A BIG HIT FOR CLAN CANCER SUPPORT CHARITYA north-east cancer charity has launched its annual fundraising raffle which will see one lucky ticketholder celebrate Christmas with a brand new car. CLAN Cancer Support hopes to make someone’s Christmas that little bit more magical thanks to the support of global energy company TAQA. The charity is giving supporters the chance to win a Mini First car in a draw which will take place on Christmas Eve. Susan Crighton, CLAN fundraising manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer such a great prize for what is a very popular raffle with our supporters and visitors to our shops and events. “Thanks to the support of TAQA, the Mini will be taking centre stage at many of our events throughout the North-east and will also be seen at many agricultural shows and outdoor events. “We are also hoping that companies will show their support by selling tickets in offices, shops and premises – where the Mini might even make an appearance in person.” Leo Koot, managing director of TAQA Bratani said: "We are delighted to support CLAN with this fantastic fundraising initiative. As we continue to grow our operations in the North Sea, it is important that we support our local community in which we live and work. “TAQA is proud of its strong links with charitable organisations throughout the North East of Scotland and the partnership with CLAN is another great way to give something back to our community." Tickets for the CLAN Mini First raffle are £1 each and are on sale now, available at CLAN House, and from representatives at various events throughout the North-east during the year. Aberdeen and District Rotary Clubs will also be selling tickets for the raffle at a number of events. CLAN Cancer Support is an independent charity which offers support to anyone affected by cancer. Based in Aberdeen, the charity covers the whole of Grampian, Orkney and Shetland. CLAN is also developing services in the community and now has a presence in Ballater, Inverurie, Peterhead, Stonehaven, Orkney and Shetland.
