Minister to speak at OE breakfastEnergy, Enterprise and Tourism Minister Fergus Ewing will be the keynote speaker at this year’s opening breakfast at SPE Offshore Europe. The theme of this year’s breakfast event, organised by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, is Securing Safe, Smart, Sustainable Supply and the Minister will give an overview from the Government on the significance of the O&G sector to Scotland. Joining him on the podium will be Trevor Garlick, Regional President of BP who will outline what BP is doing to extend the life of its North Sea business and discuss the role of oil and gas in the long term energy mix. Also speaking at the event, which will be chaired by Bob Ruddiman, Head of Energy for McGrigors, are Dale Njoka, Ernst & Young’s Global Oil & Gas Leader who will provide an overview of global trends and how they affect the local market and Neil Gordon, Chief Executive of Subsea UK. The breakfast will be held at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Tuesday, September 6. It begins at the slightly later time of 7.30am and concludes at 9.30am in time for the opening of the conference and exhibition.
