Monty tees up for charity event

2010 Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie will be the keynote speaker at a fundraising dinner in aid of three charities.

The event, on May 9, which is being organised by the Burgesses of Guild, will raise money for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres, the VSA and the Lord Provost’s Charitable Trust.

Rather than stick to the normal format of an after dinner speaker, Monty will host a Q&A session answering questions submitted by the audience.  Also speaking after dinner will be “Wag of Wags” winner Douglas Duthie who will entertain with his own brand of humour and Dean of Guild Fred Dalgarno.

During the evening guest will have the chance to win or bid for a range of prizes including golf at Loch Lomond, football at Old Trafford and a spa package at the Double Tree Hilton.

Principal sponsor of the event is Aberdeen Asset Management with further support from BP, Simmons International, MacPhies of Glenbervie, ATP1 and Donald Russell.
