Mostyn McKenzie Dip Toe In To Perth Market

Footwear retailer Mostyn McKenzie has extended its branch network with the opening of a new store in Perth.

The company has taken a 10 year lease of 23 St John Street which was previously occupied by Jones Bootmakers and is close to well established department store McEwans of Perth. The prominent corner unit extends to 860 sq ft on the ground floor and 2258 sq ft on the first floor.

Commercial property specialist FG Burnett acted on behalf of Mostyn McKenzie with Lickley Proctor acting on behalf of the landlord, Kestrel Equities Limited.

Graeme McKenzie, of Mostyn McKenzie, said: “We believe that our product offering will be welcomed in the city and have been looking for the right premises for some time. The St John Street location will be ideal for us.”

F G Burnett’s Kevin Jackson added: “Perth city centre has seen quite a lot of letting activity recently with new stores for Primark, Brighthouse, Trespass and Mountain Warehouse.

“The development of the former Woolworths to create space for Next and New Look will add further to the strong retail offer in Perth. Mostyn McKenzie will fill the gap left by Jones Bootmakers in the Perth footwear market and shows their confidence in the city, which comes just after the opening of their new flagship store on Union Street in Aberdeen.”

Established in 1966, Mostyn McKenzie also has other outlets in Aberdeen, Broughty Ferry, Dundee, Edinburgh and St Andrews.
