Munro’s Travel Group scoops prestigious award

Munro’s are celebrating their success on being named as Best Independent Scottish Business Travel Agency of 2011. The Aberdeen-based firm received the Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association (SPAA) accolade at a glittering awards ceremony in Glasgow.

Munro’s Travel Group, one of the largest independent travel agents in the UK has recently seen significant growth in its core business of providing a complete travel management service to energy sector companies around the world.

Managing partner Murray Burnett said: “From relatively small beginnings, Munro’s has become a leading name in the industry and we are extremely pleased to have won this national award. Not only is it testament to our continued efforts to provide an exemplar service for our clients, it is also well deserved recognition for the passionate and dedicated people we have within our business.”

Established in 1903, the Union Street firm operates two specialist divisions encompassing business travel, and groups and conferences. It provides solutions to all business travel requirements across a wide range of travel services including air, rail, ferry, car hire and hotel booking; and also operates a specialist in-house passport and visa service.

The travel awards, which are in their 19th year, are voted for by the travel industry itself.
