Networking not working? Try Schmooze

There is just a few days until Scotland’s first Schmooze, a unique, informal, ‘non-networking networking’ event for those early in their media and communication careers.

Aberdeen-based Schmooze was independently developed by local PR professionals, Claire McBain and Leona Minellas from Bread PR, who spotted a gap in the traditional networking circuit.

Leona said: “We feel apprehensive when attending traditional networking events and felt there was a market for an event with no pressure, no badges and no presentations. Schmooze is simply about getting together with other young, like-minded people and having a chat. The event is open, but not limited, to journalists, marketers, PRs, event organisers, designers, photographers and in-house communications professionals in the first few years of their career.”

Claire said: “The need for a non-networking networking event clearly resonates with others: we have been delighted with the positive responses so far. We are looking forward to Schmoozing with our peers next week and can’t wait to pave the way for a new approach to business networking.”

Schmooze will take place on Thursday 30 June, between 6pm and 9pm, at Amicus Apple, Aberdeen. To find out more, or to secure your place, contact Leona.minellas@breadpr.com or visit http://ow.ly/i/d1zu
