New Aberdeen City Public Transport Guide publishedA revised edition of the Aberdeen City Public Transport Guide has been published. The guide has easy-to-read colour coded maps of the city’s daytime and night bus networks. There is also a city centre plan showing all bus stops, accompanied by a destination list to help bus passengers find the right departure point to catch their bus.
SMS Stop Information is also included to help passengers to get up-to-the minute departure information for individual bus stops with just a simple text. These codes can also be used on the www.realtimebus.com website to get up-to-the-minute information for First Aberdeen services.
There is also a quick guide to places of interest, a list of bus operators and useful telephone numbers ensuring that this is the guide to help you make the most of travelling around Aberdeen city.
The revised guide has been published in conjunction with a review of daytime and late night bus stopping arrangements on Union Street. These changes are being made to improve traffic flow as well as passenger and pedestrian safety in the city centre. A revised list of city centre bus stops is included within the guide. These revised stops will come into effect from Monday [14 November].
The guide was produced by the council with assistance from First Aberdeen, Stagecoach Bluebird, Central Coaches, MW Nicoll, Bain’s Coaches, Kineil Coaches, Aberdeenshire Council and Nestrans. A copy of the Aberdeen City Public Transport Guide can be downloaded from the council website at www.aberdeencity.gov.uk Free copies will soon be available at Marischal College, public libraries, The Robert Gordon University, University of Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire Council, First Aberdeen’s Travelshop, Stagecoach Bluebird’s ticket office and Nestrans.
