NEW GENERAL MANAGER AND MARKETING EXECUTIVE FOR HIGHLAND CUISINEHighland Cuisine, one of Scotland’s leading catering and events service businesses, has appointed Alan Fulton as its new general manager. Alan, 34, joins the team at the Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, from the Albyn in Aberdeen’s west end where he was operations manager.
His appointment follows a comprehensive strategic review of the business by its parent company, the ANM Group, which is one of Britain’s biggest farmer-owned co-operatives.
Alan will now lead the drive to build on Highland Cuisine’s first class food offering at Thainstone through its highly acclaimed Barn & Bushel restaurant; the newly renovated Gallery restaurant, TC’s Diner and the Exchange.
In addition, he will also help continue and expand Highland Cuisine’s excellent reputation as a high quality outside caterer for weddings and other major events.
The Aberdeen-born father-of-two said: “I have already been impressed by the diversity of the business and the passion of the staff for their work. There is a great attitude here and I am looking forward to making my mark.”
Alan originally trained as a chef at Aberdeen College and then completed an HNC in Hospitality Management. He formerly worked at the Aberdeen Moathouse Hotel; the Thistle Altens; Café Rouge and Number One before joining the Albyn four years ago.
He is joined at Highland Cuisine by Kristin Gunn, who has become the firm’s first events, sales and marketing executive.
Kristin, 30, was previously part of the marketing team at A.C. Yule in Aberdeen.
The former Kemnay Academy pupil studied art and design at Aberdeen College before completing an English degree at university.
She said: “This is a new challenge both for me and for Highland Cuisine and I am looking forward to helping promote the business and what it can offer, especially here at Thainstone.”
John Gregor, the general manager of ANM Group’s Livestock Division, which oversees Highland Cuisine, welcomed the new appointments, which he said were a key element in moving the business forward. 153 views
