New General Manager Appointed at Wilson James

Keith Fleming has been appointed General Manager – Scotland for Wilson James, effective from 1 August 2011.

Keith joined Wilson James in April 2007 as their Commercial Manager for Aberdeen and was moved to the role of Business Services Manager in 2009 with a greater focus on account management and business development. Keith says. “the post of General Manager – Scotland brings new challenges for me and I am keen to build upon the strong foundation we have established in Scotland, particularly around Aberdeen”. Wilson James are recognized as a leading light in the security industry with regard to how they look after their staff’s welfare, their hours of work, training and development, and are the only security provider working within the spirit of the Working Time Regulations. Keith says, “this management approach means that we attract and retain good quality security officers who deliver a high quality service to our customers. I am delighted to be taking the lead in Scotland for such a dynamic and forward thinking company.”

 

A graduate of the Open University and of the Robert Gordon University, Keith is a former Police Officer with Grampian Police, having served for 32 years. He concluded his service as Head of Organisational Development in the rank of Superintendent and thereafter was employed as the Business Manager for the Crime Management Division with the same employer for a further two years.

 

As a Police Officer, Keith held a range of operational positions in various ranks, including accident investigator, Crime Prevention and Architectural Liaison Officer, Training Manager (Inspector) and senior officer responsible for the development of strategy, the auditing of processes and procedures, and reporting to Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Constabulary on the Force’s management and performance.

 

Keith said, “Over the past 4 years I have built upon my Police career and acquired a breadth of new experiences in the Security Industry. Wilson James have people management as a cornerstone of their business because it is the heart of running a successful people oriented organisation. Good results come from well managed people.”
