Seatronics announces renewal of global partnership with 2G robotics

Seatronics, an Acteon company, are delighted to announce the renewal of their global sales and distribution partnership with 2G Robotics, specialists in high precision underwater laser scanning and imaging technology.

2G Robotics’ underwater laser scanners generate true-scale submillimetre resolution 3D models of subsea structures and environments in real-time. The systems provide notable improvements in accuracy, precision, and cost efficiency for subsea survey, inspection, and engineering operations. The high density point cloud data generated by the systems equips engineers with the detail needed to comprehensively assess subsea assets, develop effective design and repair solutions, and make informed decisions in order to ensure continued safe offshore operation. The systems can be diver deployed or integrated with ROVs or AUVs for dynamic scanning. 2G Robotics’ ULS-500 laser system has been specifically developed for dynamic scanning with development focused on subsea vehicle integrations, high sample rates, timing synchronization, and continuous data acquisition for faster, more efficient inspections.

Providing market-leading marine equipment has always been a top priority for Seatronics. With underwater laser scanning becoming a leading inspection solution for integrity management, Seatronics is excited to be offering 2G Robotics’ laser systems for rental and sale through Seatronics’ global bases. The renewal of the partnership between 2G Robotics and Seatronics will continue to benefit customers by enabling worldwide access to 2G Robotics’ advanced inspection technology and to Seatronics’ industry expertise and global technical support.

Jason Gillham, CEO, 2G Robotics said, “We first partnered with Seatronics in January 2015. Through the partnership, 2G Robotics and Seatronics have been able to strategically secure new growth opportunities and further expand global reach to better serve customers. We look forward to advancing the relationship and collaborating with Seatronics in the year to come.”

Phil Middleton, group managing director, Seatronics, “I’m excited to have renewed our partnership with Jason and the team at 2GR. Recent developments and forthcoming deployments utilizing the ULS-500 integrated with ROV platforms to perform mobile mapping and dynamic inspections present significant opportunities. Together, we can provide real cost savings to our clients which is critical in the present environment.”
