Council encourages Aberdeen companies to explore Brazilian business boost

Aberdeen City Council is preparing to welcome a host of senior Brazilian business officials to the Granite City on 3 September (Monday).

Representatives from Rio Negocios, the International promotion agency for the city of Rio de Janeiro, will be visiting the Granite City to attend a seminar hosted by the Council.

The event will feature a presentation about the rapidly expanding energy industry in Brazil followed by a networking lunch. Local companies are welcome to attend and hear all about opportunities in Oil & Gas in the State of Rio de Janeiro, which remains the focus of the ever-growing industry in Brazil.

The presentation will provide a comprehensive understanding of the aggregated investment plan for the value chain of the Oil & Gas sector in Brazil and focus on the specific demands currently facing the market, including opportunities for local companies to provide services and equipment that are currently in short supply.

Gordon McIntosh, Director of Enterprise, Planning and Infrastructure at Aberdeen City Council, said: "The energy sector in Brazil clearly offers enormous opportunities for training and educational companies based in Aberdeen.

"The seminar will enable interested parties to meet with Rio Negocios so they can find out more about the specific business opportunities in Brazil that may be available to them."

Rio Negocios promote Rio de Janeiro as the gateway to the Oil & Gas sector in Brazil and have the long-term goal of attracting UK companies to Brazil in order to establish their businesses and take advantage of the opportunities that are available across the Brazilian energy sector.

Companies and Individuals that would like to attend the event on September 1 should contact Neil McIntosh via email at NMcIntosh@aberdeencity.gov.uk
