Nominations Now Open for Scotland’s ‘Best Award Scheme’

Nominations have opened for Scotland’s best award scheme, the fifth annual cHeRries awards, which recognise achievements in human resources, recruitment and training in north-east Scotland.

Open to individuals, teams and organisations from throughout the area, the initiative is organised by Aberdeen-based event management company, cushydoos, with Aberdeen Business School at The Robert Gordon University as title sponsor and Kudos – Employee Benefits as supporting sponsor.

The 2012 awards will see the introduction of two new categories: The Exemplary Employer of Choice Award, sponsored by CMS Cameron McKenna, will recognise an organisation truly committed to a great people culture and has used this to help succeed in business.

The Top cHeRry Award, sponsored by Kudos – Employee Benefits, will be presented to an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to our region’s HR community, and will be announced on the night.

The ceremony will also see the return of seven other awards; these categories and sponsors are:

  • The cHeRries Blossoming Award - Aberdeen Business School at The Robert Gordon University
  • Outstanding HR Director - Hunter Adams
  • Excellent HR Manager - activpayroll
  • Fantastic HR Advisor - Wood Group
  • Extraordinary Team Initiative - Petrofac Training Services
  • Tremendous Training and Development - Aberdeen Appointments Agency
  • Finders Keepers Recruitment and Retention - Crown Relocations

Earlier this year, the cHeRries Awards celebrated a win of its own after the initiative was named ‘Best Awards Scheme’ at the Scottish Event Awards in Edinburgh.

Karen Reid, director, cushydoos, said: “We were overjoyed that the cHeRries were recognised nationally at the Scottish Event Awards, and we hope that this will make collecting a cHeRry even more special for our winners.

“We’re delighted to be able to continue to recognise and reward the talented individuals, teams and organisations in our HR community and despite now going in to our fifth year, the wealth of worthy nominees continues to grow! The 2012 ceremony is going to be another fantastic event.”

The cHeRries Awards 2012 will be presented during a ceremony held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Thursday 7th June, which is expected to again attract a capacity crowd of nearly 500 guests.
