NPW 2011: activpayroll makes a difference of £4000 for charitiesThe activpayroll team made a really big effort for National Payroll Week this year, to celebrate our tenth Birthday. Alison Sellar, Managing Director of activpayroll said, “It’s been a fantastic team effort this year, everyone’s came together to make National Payroll Week 2011 a really big success. Our team has made a difference totaling £4000 for charities in a mere five days. We also launched Pennies for Promise, an innovative payroll giving scheme that will ensure charities are supported throughout the year.”
Pennies for Promise: An innovative Payroll Giving Scheme
To start National Payroll Week we launched Pennies for Promise on Monday 5th September, an innovative payroll giving scheme that ensure 100% of donations go directly to charity. The scheme is open to all UK companies, regardless if they are a client or not. The scheme is poised to raise a huge £100,000 for charities in it’s first year!
Putting out time into community projects: £2500 of time given to a local charity
Additionally, twenty of our staff exchanged their computers for paint brushes and gardening forks to decorate and garden for Inspire, a local charity in Aberdeen that provides support and homes for hundreds of children, young people and adults with learning disabilities. They worked throughout the week, to help them improve their accommodation facilities.
It is estimated that the work completed by activpayroll staff, saved the charity £2500 of contractor fees to complete the work. A huge saving for the charity.
Raising Cash: To help fight cancer, £1500 to Cancer Research UK.
For those unable to leave the office, we ran an array of events in the office including a cake bake, a car wash, leg waxing and a pay to dress down day. In total our team raised £1500, and they collectively agreed to donate the raised funds to Cancer Research UK.
activpayroll spokesman, Mark Farquhar said, “2011 is a big year for our company, as we are celebrating our tenth Birthday. Everyone in our team was in high spirits and keen to go the extra mile for National Payroll Week this year. We look forward to making a bigger difference during NPW 2012!” 142 views
