OFFSHORE EQUIPMENT RENTAL SPECIALIST LAUNCHES NEW COMPANY

The Ferguson Group, specialists in the rental of containers and accommodation and engineering modules to the offshore energy industry around the world, has launched a new company to meet growing demand for offshore fridge and freezer units.

Steven Ferguson, Managing Director of the Ferguson Group, said: “IceBlue Refrigeration Offshore Ltd has been formed in response to increasing global demand for specialist fridge and freezer units. It is starting with the same values as all our companies – to provide high-quality products, short lead times and exceptional customer support in the UK and key international locations.

“IceBlue already has a modern fleet of refrigerated units available and plans are in place to significantly grow the fleet size over the course of the next 12 months. We have recruited a number of staff with knowledge of the rental sector to spearhead the new company and believe it will grow rapidly to become an industry leader.’’

IceBlue has stock available in the UK, Norway, Singapore, Australia and the United Arab Emirates, providing refrigeration and freezing solutions for food transportation and storage.

IceBlue Business Development Executive James Scullion said: “There is a growing need in the offshore industry for refrigeration solutions and we have high-quality units immediately available in a number of key international locations.’’

The launch of IceBlue is part of an overall investment of £75million by the Ferguson Group over the next three years in rental asset fleets. Nearly 75% of the Ferguson Group’s business now comes from outwith the UK market and a large proportion of the new investment will be in further expansion in overseas operations.

The Ferguson Group increased turnover by 20% to £36million in 2009. It employs more than 150 people worldwide through its divisions serving the offshore container rental and accommodation modules markets. The group, based at Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, has operations in all major global oil and gas locations.
