Oil and Gas Skills Body to Host Information Session for Industry

OPITO, the UK oil and gas industry skills and standards body, is to hold a lunch & learn on June 29 looking at the importance of competency management systems (CMS) when ensuring workforce competence.

The event aims to provide industry with an overview of competency, the benefits of having a robust management system in place and the process involved in having a system independently approved to industry best practice.

 

Keynote speaker will be Mike Hawley, head of competency and audit at Total E&P UK Ltd, which was the first operator to gain OPITO approval of their CMS last year in the North Sea. The event will also include one-to-one discussion opportunities with OPITO representatives.
