Project controls graduates raise money for local Scottish charity

Five Wood Group project control graduates have raised over £2,000 for local cancer charity Clan.

Mandy Bennett, Christopher Gordon, Sarah Strachan, Nikki Wright and Leah Brown triumphed at the finals of the inaugural Association for Project Management (APM) Scottish Project Challenge held in Aberdeen last month. The event develops the next generation of project managers by challenging them to raise money for the charity of their choice. The competition ran for five months with teams submitting a business case and then going on to implement their project.

The budding young project managers successfully held a quiz night that raised the vital funds that will be used to train 30 volunteers.

Ian Chapple, chairing the evening, stressed the high quality of all the entries and invited teams to enter the next challenge. Ian said: “It is a unique opportunity for students and young project managers to manage a project from inception to delivery”.
