Recycling centre plan goes to public hearingA public hearing has been held into plans for a household waste recycling centre on part of the former Grove Nursery site in Hazlehead. SITA UK has lodged a planning application with Aberdeen City Council to build facilities where residents can take domestic waste, including wood and cardboard, garden waste, metal, rubble and glass to be recycled.
A public hearing was held because the proposal represents a departure from the development plan, relates to land within council ownership and has attracted more than 20 letters of objection. Councillors on the Development Management sub-committee met today [22 November] for the hearing and heard statements from council officers, the applicant, community groups and members of the public.
A report on the proposal will go before the Development Management sub-committee in due course. 82 views
