Red Tape Challenge

The Government is continuing to gather evidence from businesses about its Red Tape Challenge which is described as a new initiative to tackle regulation.

The challenge will continue until April 2013, and throughout the process the Government will publish general regulations which cut across all business sectors and ask for feedback and comment. During that time they will also publish regulations covering specific business sectors.

The idea is that unless departments can justify why they are needed, burdensome regulations will be dropped. Challenges will come from an independent reviewer. To find out more about the challenge, in particular how it might affect your sector, log on to this link
