Residential area speed limits may be reviewed

Speed limits in all residential areas of Aberdeen could be reviewed as part of a major study and review of speed limits city-wide.

Members of the Enterprise, Planning and Infrastructure Committee are to consider a report prepared in response to a motion by Councillor Jim Farquharson to explore the possibility of changing the whole structure of traffic speed controls in the city.

They are being asked to instruct officers to undertake a review of speed limits in residential areas in conjunction with a review being carried out of A and B class roads across the city.

Councillors are asked to include the proposed city-wide speed limit review, should they choose to pursue it, in The A and B class roads speed limit review which began last year.

The Enterprise, Planning and Infrastructure Committee will consider the report when it meets on Tuesday [31 January].
