Residents to return to storm-hit homes

Three families evacuated from a block of flats in Kincorth late last night [Thursday, 8 December] have been allowed to return home.

The three other families, who live at the damaged gable end of the flats at Gardner Crescent remain in alternative accommodation meantime.

The top gable end of the property came down in the storm. A car parked beside the building was crushed by the falling debris.

Structural engineers have assessed the building. Repair work is being carried out with a view to getting the other three families home as soon as possible.
