Returning Officer to host by-election briefing

Returning Officer Valerie Watts will host a briefing next Tuesday [12 April] for potential candidates, agents and others involved in the forthcoming Dyce, Bucksburn and Danestone by-election.

The briefing will be held at 6pm in Committee Room 2 in the Town House, Broad Street, Aberdeen, and will also be attended by officials from the Election Unit.

The event will allow anyone who may be directly involved in the Aberdeen City Council by-election – including party workers and elected members – to hear first-hand from the Returning Officer about the electoral arrangements and to pose questions.

Mrs Watts said: “This is an opportunity for anyone with a role to play in the by-election to find out how the process will be managed, including polling day and the count. I would urge anyone with an interest to attend.”
