RGU Fashion students raise £10,000 for ARCHIE

Fashion Management students from Robert Gordon University (RGU) presented a cheque for £10,000 to the ARCHIE Foundation this week, after totalling up the final figures from their successful “Wonderland” fashion show which took place earlier in the year.

The fashion show, this time organised by BA (Hons) Fashion Management students from RGU to raise money for ARCHIE, has become a significant occasion in the city’s fashion and charity event schedule and is rolling into its fifth year.

The Wonderland Fashion Show, the theme of which was inspired by the children ARCHIE helps, took audiences through an adventure of six magical fashion themes including Tea Party, Circus and Queen of Hearts with a live performance from Scottish band Kate and the Redundants.

Gail Gordon, Community Fundraiser at the ARCHIE foundation said, “On behalf of the ARCHIE Foundation, we’re absolutely delighted with the total amount raised from The Wonderland Fashion Show and that ARCHIE is the benefiting charity. We’re incredibly grateful to all of the students involved and for raising such an amazing amount. The event was fantastically organised and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the show. The money raised will help make such a difference to sick children and their families when they really need it most.”

The ARCHIE Foundation is the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, the Children's Wards in Inverness and Elgin and Community based Child Health throughout Grampian, Highland, Orkney and Shetland. Donations given to the charity go directly towards ‘Making the difference’ for 100,000 local sick children and their families everyday.
